The Swan Valley Medical Recruitment and Retention Committee is comprised of representative from our four area municipalities. The committee and associated fund was created to provide financial and other incentives to encourage professionals to live and work in our area of Manitoba.
We provide funding for students who wish to become doctors and practice in the Swan River Valley. We also provide return of service agreements for several other roles in the medical industry. Our current offers can be found on the Retention & Recruitment Packages page.
We receive $16 per capital funding from our partners each year. These funds are invested through the Swan Valley Health Facilities Foundation and bear interest. We are not a foundation and do spend both the interest and contributions on our activities.
In 2024 one of our main projects is set to be accomplished. We have helped fund a CT Scanner at the Swan Valley Health Centre. This scanner will improve service to our residents, attract additional staff and provide economic development opportunities.
